HAPPY FALL

with school beginning and cooler air coming in... fall has definitely arrived! {i start getting into the halloween spirit around the end of august and don't stop until november!} this is my all time favorite time of year and i could not be more excited - everything from boots, to fall scented candles, to halloween, to scary movies, to the leaves changing colors. i know it's been a little quiet here but expect lots and lots of posts this season! happy fall!!

ps i broke out the boots about a week ago already!

OUT OF THE EIGHTIES

i have been on a huge 80's kick recently... and i wasn't even alive in that decade. everything from movies, to music, to fashion. i thought i would share a few of my all time favorite 80's movies. actually, they make the list of overall favorite movies too.

the breakfast club. i could seriously watch this movie on repeat. that is how much i am in love with it. i love the story, the characters, and of course.. john bender.❤

beetlejuice. this is my all time favorite movie from my favorite director.. tim burton. this is another movie i could watch over and over again. beetlejuice is such an amazing character and i love the gothic comedy. and who doesn't remember/ love the banana boat song scene???

the labyrinth. i can still remember the first time i watched this movie and how much i loved the fantasy of it. to this day, i still love this movie. david bowie is just all around amazing.

DRIP FRENCH MANICURE

the second i found this nail tutorial on grav3yardgirl's youtube channel, i knew i had to do it. immediately. i am a sucker for all things horror or halloween related! this would be the perfect nails to rock during the halloween season. and honestly, it is much easier than it looks. plus you do not need to do a perfect paint job. i feel like this color combo makes my nails look very goosebumps-esque! {next time i think i might try a blood red drip over opi's skull and glossbones}

i started by painting two coats of mojito madness. then i poured some of revlon's knockout onto a paper plate. i took a small paintbrush and did a thin {messy} tip. i then started at the bottom of my drip and did tiny connecting dots up to the tip. remember to vary your drip size/ shape and be messy! this look is not a neat and perfect one. {since my opi top coat leaked on the flight to las vegas, i did not put one on. however i highly recommend it!}

{finished product. ps don't be afraid to get nail polish on your skin... it washes off! and no one likes to have a side of a nail missing polish.}

chicken salad

i was lucky enough to stumble upon this recipe over at wildheartwhispers and i thought i would share this little treasure with you. it has definitely become a staple in my household. my family loves it and i know you will too. {ps if you haven’t heard of wildheartwhispers, definitely take a minute or two and check out her blog! a lot of my inspiration comes from over there!}

ingredients:

{serves 3 or 4}

rotisserie chicken 2

fuji apples

bag of red seedless grapes

mayo

salt and pepper

directions:

start by shredding your chicken, dicing your apples, and cutting your grapes into fourths. then combine 1/2 chicken, 1/4 apple, and 1/4 grape into a bowl. mix with mayo, salt, and pepper to taste and voila! i had mine on toast but eating it by itself is just as great. super simple and extremely delicious!

DREAMCATCHER

recently i ordered this adorable, handmade dreamcatcher from a los angeles based etsy shop. i was over the moon excited with it arrived!! everything, down to the packaging was so cute, thoughtful, and personal. and i'm in love with the dreamcatcher.. it's absolutely perfect. i will definitely be keeping an eye on wildheartwhisper’s etsy shop and order from her in the future!!

i went to the aerosmith concert on sunday and it was aaamazing!!! steven sounded so good live. joe and steven both looked top notch! i loved the whole vibe during the concert and i am so glad i was able to see one of my favorite bands live. hopefully i will get a chance to see them again on the second leg of their tour {and maybe get closer seats}\
