BLOOD SPLATTER NAILS

if any of you are looking for something festive to do to your nails without stopping by your local manicurist... here is a diy blood splatter nail tutorial. it's really simple and looks really cool when completed. start off by painting your nails with two coats of a light base color. i used a shimmery silver-white. after you let those coats completely dry, take an old click pen and unscrew the end that you write with. take out the actual ink tube and hold onto the plastic outter part. put a dollop of deep red nail polish on a paper plate and dip the tip of the pen in. hold the pen close to your nail and blow on the other end. the red should shoot out and randomly cover your nail. repeat on each nail and don't be afraid to be messy!! if you don't have red nail polish all over your fingers when you are done, you didn't add enough red! plus, it will easily wash off.

these nails would be perfect for a bloody nurse or zombie costume. they would also be really fun if your not dressing up.. rock them at a haunted house or hayride!

NEVER TOO LATE

three days grace is my favorite band. i have been a huge fan for many many years now. {i'm even considering getting a tattoo involving some of their lyrics..} seeing them live has been something i've been waiting to do since 2007. five years later, i can finally say i have seen them live!! and it was AMAZING!!! i saw them yesterday in baltimore and it was literally the best show i have been to. adam's voice is unreal... he sounds exactly like he does on the album. not to mention he is extremely easy on the eyes... neil, brad, and barry were killing it the entire time, too. i'm hoping they come back to the area sometime in the spring or summer and play a festival {and sell meet and greet tickets}

set list:
sign of the times, chalk outline, the good life, i hate everything about you, misery loves my company, the high road, pain, home {with lose yourself cover}, drum solo, i don't care, expectations, operate, never too late, riot, free fallin cover, happiness, animal i have become

ps i'm really proud of myself for surviving the mosh pit!

HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS 22

sorry it has been so quiet here... i just got back from an eleven day get away to florida. {i go down every october for universal's halloween horror nights!!} i gotta say, this year's hhn was aaaamazing. probably my favorite so far! {this was my third year going} the scareactors were full of energy and always on their a game! i went five times while i was there... so for scareactors to get a jump out of me on the fifth time is pretty good. i also got to be the first one through the penn and teller house one of the nights, which made for a completely different experience. it was really terrifying to have no one in front of me and to be the target of every scareactor in the house! one of the days we went on the unmasking the horror tour so look for a post about that in the near future! here are just a few of my favorite pics from this year's halloween horror nights...

PAST PUMPKINS

one of my favorite things about fall is picking out the perfect pumpkins. i love decorating them... whether it's carving an intricate design or painting a cute creature. this time last year i was not nearly as busy so i decided i was going to go all out with my pumpkins. i had just returned from my annual florida vacation and was inspired to create a beetlejuice pumpkin. {after all, he is one of my favorite tim burton creations!} after searching google for a printable stencil, i can across the above image. i  printed it, drew out the design on the pumpkin, and got to carving. now let me tell you... i went through two carving knives and had extremely sore fingers after it was all said and done. i LOVED the final result however it took entirely too long! {four plus hours to be exact...} for fun, i also got a pumpkin painting kit at target and made a cute grim reaper. he was much easier to paint and took no time at all! this year, i'm thinking i will stick to a much more simple design from those pumpkin carving books... then again, who am i kidding? i always go all out for halloween so i will more than likely end up finding another intricate design i just have to do!

FOR THE LOVE OF BOOTS

i have a serious obsession with black boots. serious. once the temperature hits the low 80s, you will definitely find me rocking my boots. only black thought. since i tend to gravitate towards black clothing, having a collection of brown or tan boots would be silly. now, although all my boots are black... i have a variety of styles. everything from motorcycle to over the knee to cowboy. so, without further adieu, here is my little black boots collection. hope you enjoy and it inspires you to go out and pick up a pair of black boots yourself!

{k9 motorcycle}

 {blowfish over the knee}

 {two lips - my absolute favorites!!}

{steve madden cowboy}

{decree slouch}

what can i say, i simply love my boots!
