sorry it's been kinda quiet.. i started a new job plus went to the shinedown, three days grace a pod concert this past week. let me tell you... if you love rock music and don't go to this concert, you are missing out! it was a killer show!! all three bands were amazing {even three days grace minus adam. matt did a great job!!} i was also lucky enough to meet the guys of three days grace before the show and the guys of shinedown after the show! all were very cool but the boys of shinedown definitely made my night.. i got hugs from barry, eric, and zach plus brent called me "darlin." they were so sincere, kind, and funny! {what more could you ask for??} AND i survived the mosh pit!!! just barely there at the end though. things started getting crazy but it was such a fun night. here are some of my favorite pictures from the show. enjoy!

DON'T LET THE ZOMBIES BITE
the walking dead is my absolute favorite tv show. not gonna lie, i have been obsessed since season one. if you have not checked this show out... you must!! it goes deeper than a group of people killing a bunch of zombies. but don't get me wrong, there's a lot of zombie killing, too! it comes on tonight so grab someone you love {or someone who will protect you}, turn off the lights, and don't let the zombies bite! we all know how that ends...

FOR THE LOVE OF B&W STRIPES
i am lucky enough to say that i got a new job! {only took a month after graduating so i promise there is hope for people out there looking!} i am also lucky enough to get an office and not have to wear a suit every day. i spent the earlier part of today shopping for work clothes with my mom. i gotta say.. kohl's was a gold mind!! they had a huge selection and great deals. i was instantly drawn to all the black and white stripes however i did get other colors and solids too. here are the black and white items i picked up today that i am head over heels in love with. i mean is all this black and white really a surprise to anyone? ha!

ARE YOU WITH ME NOW?
i have been a fan of nikki sixx for a while now.. mostly because of his work with motley crue. recently i learned he had two books out, so i picked up this is gonna hurt. i expected it to be mostly photos but i was pleasantly surprised! while i was reading and even after i finished it and would tell people about it, the main word i used was interesting. and interesting in a good way! i love his outlook on life and this book really opened my eyes and made me take a new perspective. i would definitely recommend picking this up. especially if you are a nikki sixx fan! i cannot wait to get my hands on his first book... the heroin diaries! here are some bits of the book that really inspired me.

STITCHED HEART NAILS
with valentine's day tomorrow, i figured i would do some festive nails... and by festive i mean putting my own demented style into them! {plus i don't celebrate valentine's day} originally i thought about just throwing a couple hearts onto my nails but then i got the idea to take it to another level. the stitched heart. if you want some festive nails that are a little out of the ordinary {like myself...} then keep reading to learn how to get them!!
directions: shape and buff your nails. now bend your bobby pin. do this first so you don't mess up your nails once they are painted. paint three coats of white, off white, or gray onto your ring fingernails. i used opi's skull and glossbone. start with these nails so they have time to completely dry before adding the hearts. then paint the rest of your nails with two coats of your favorite black polish. {if interested, i did a whole post on my favorite!!} now dab a bit of red onto a paper plate, practice dipping the end of the bobby pin in and drawing hearts, then go for it on your nail! the red i used was opi's big apple red. once you let your hearts dry, dab some black onto the same plate, take a toothpick, dip into black, then add stitches to your heart and/or fingernail. let everything dry completely then seal with a top coat!

ASHBA SWAG
dj ashba is a huge inspiration to me. he is the lead guitarist of guns n roses and sixx am, along with owning a clothing line and producing and writing music for other bands. he seems like the nicest guy in the world and goes out of his way to show is appreciation to his fans. he is also a spokesperson for bullyville.. which is a really good cause! not to mention he is an amazing guitarist and very easy on the eyes! seriously, everyone go read his story on bullyville's website. i loooove his style {right up my alley} so i decided to show my support and treat myself to something off ashba swag!! plus, with a tagline like "swag for the demented" how could my demented heart resist?? i fell in love with a hoodie and then saw that you could get a personalized copy of the goretorium soundtrack... which i was already planning on picking up. let's just say i did not hesitate to order. well, my package arrived the other night and i am on cloud nine! i have not taken the hoodie off yet and the cd blew my mind.. the autograph made me quite giddy too! i HIGHLY recommend you check out dj ashba if you don't know who he is and head over to ashba swag because the stuff is literally to die for!!
