a few times a year i host a girl's night with a group of my close friends. in the summer months we can have them out by the pool; however, since it has been around 30 degrees, the upcoming girl's night will have to be held indoors. the other day megan and i decided to make a banner {inspiration from wildheartwhispers} as decoration for our get together. so off to joann's we went.. we picked up the fringe, gold glitter, poster board, and string. {i already had the mod podge, hole punch, etc} first things first, download american typewriter font and print out large letters. then cut them out and trace them onto the poster board {which is much sturdier for holding the mod podge and glitter} after cutting them out, get to mod podging and glittering. i found it easiest to pour a lot of glitter into a paper plate, mod podge the letters, and stick them in the glitter. after letting them dry for a bit {and watching burlesque} paint a thin layer of mod podge on top to lock in the glitter. hole punch the top of each letter, string the string through, hang up the fringe, then hang up the letters. voila! a little tip: by not securing the fringe directly to the letters, you will be able to use it for future banners!!
